More than a name change
When we founded EmsanaCare, we believed that employers deserved something better than handing their employees a directory and wishing them luck. We saw members struggling to navigate a system that was never designed to help them. We saw employers spending more every year and getting less in return.
We were co-founded by the Purchaser Business Group on Health (PBGH), because employers demanded a different model. Not a vendor-built platform supported by institutional investors seeking profits only. A solution optimized for engagement to high value providers. A model built by employers, for employers.
EmsanaCare was the name we started with. Over time our members told us the same thing in different ways: the name did not reflect the experience they were having. Handpicked Health is the name that says what we actually do.
